Welcome to Some1 in Search 4 Perfection

An Introduction

Hello 🙂 My name is Jess, I am 19 years old and have completed a year and a half of school at Briercrest Bible College. I have 2 sisters as well as 2 brothers all whom I love dearly. I started writing a book called “Someone in Search for Perfection” but decided to turn it into this blog in order to reach more people. My goal is to help and encourage others following the journey of life we are all living, more importantly I want to give a glimpse of the joy and encouragement that comes along with living for the king of kings, who has a purpose so vast for each of us that we can’t possibly understand. I want to be real with you guys and vulnerable about my struggles in order for you guys to see the real me because life as a Christian doesn’t take away your struggles but provides you with resources and support to help you understand and make it through.

Imagine

Imagine… How great would life be having someone who knows you better than anyone else could ever? Someone who understands how to love you best and shows you the love they have for you in so many unexpected ways. Someone who is so proud of you no matter how many times you screw up. Someone who is always present and comforting to talk to. What would you do if me, someone who doesn’t even know who is reading this right now, told you that you already had someone like this? I’m not even just telling you, I can promise you this, you have someone who loves you far beyond anything imaginable. Can you guess who I’m talking about? It’s God! He cares about you as a person and an individual so much that he sent his son to die for you. Yes, he sent his son to die for all people to take away all the sins of the world, but here’s the thing, he did it specifically for you. You aren’t just another person to him, you aren’t just a name. You’re his beloved child that he’d give the world to. He is so proud of you that nothing can snatch you from his arms. He will deliver you, protect you, answer you, be with you in all your times of trouble, rescue you, satisfy you, give you a million more chances than you deserve, and show you what it’s like to be a member of his kingdom. God will do all these things for you because of how much he loves you. It doesn’t matter how much, or how badly you could ever possibly screw up, for you are saved by his grace. Nothing will ever stop him from fighting for you. There’s nothing he wants more in all of his creation than to see you, his beloved child succeed. How amazing is that? He is everything we can possibly need. So please stop chasing after the world and start chasing after our savior with your whole heart. “For I am certain of this, that he who began good works in you, will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.”(Philippians 1:6) Join me on this journey of life, living for the king of kings, living for someone who has a purpose for each of us too vast for us to possibly understand. No, this does not mean that life will be easy, or perfect. Honestly, it will still feel like the world is ending at times. I’m not going to hide it from you that God can and will definitely wreck your plans. Let me tell you this though, God will only wreck your plans when he sees that your plans are about to wreck you. Which is all the more reason to trust in him, because he sees everything. We need to let him write a story. Guys, we won’t always know what God is trying to teach us, or why he seems to be putting us through things that just seem like crap. Sometimes we’ll figure out little pieces of why it’s that way but some of our questions may not become known until we get to Heaven someday. For it is written, “you may not understand what I am doing now, but later you will understand.” (John 13:7) When we let him take the lead in writing our stories, I can assure you they will all turn out beautiful. A masterpiece created by the master himself.
